The Coyote, larger than life
An NBA mascot has one of the toughest audiences in sculpture: fans who have seen the real thing up close a thousand times. Working directly with the San Antonio Spurs, we modeled the Coyote from photo reference, then sculpted him in foam, finished the sculpture in fiberglass, and built it over a steel structure for Frost Bank Center.
No 3D file existed. We built the model ourselves from photos, which is the part most shops won't quote: turning a living, moving character into a dimensional sculpture that fans will stand next to and judge.
