A desk with opinions
The desk caps six years of special projects for Dude Perfect: trophies, tour props, and stage elements, all built in our Atlanta shop. This brief was the best one yet: make it feel like a sixth character on the show. We designed and built a custom curved desk with a curved LED screen, a walnut veneer top, brushed-metal Di-Noc finishes, and motors that spin sections of the desktop at the touch of a button.
The part we're proudest of is the part you hear: the Cool Not Cool buttons. Physical flipping mechanisms driven by an Arduino-controlled stepper motor system, engineered in-house and built to survive enthusiastic use on camera.
The desk shipped from our Atlanta shop to Dude Perfect HQ in a custom crate we built for it, because a one-of-one piece deserves a one-of-one box.
