Foam sculpting and finishing, done in-house

Rec Department sculpts large-scale foam in our Atlanta studio: oversized props, mascots, characters, replicas, and dimensional objects, carved, finished, and painted by the same team that engineers and installs them. What foam gets you

Foam is how the impossible object becomes buildable. It's light enough to rig, hang, or move between markets, fast enough to hit event timelines, and it takes sculptural detail that flat fabrication can't. Finished and painted, it reads as stone, metal, plastic, or product at photo distance, and it survives the crowd.

What we sculpt

Giant replicas of products and objects. Mascots and characters. Oversized food. Dimensional logos and letters. Photo moments built around one unforgettable shape. Past foam sculpture builds include a hot dog teeter totter for Coca-Cola (sculpted foam, fiberglass finish, steel structure) and the Spurs mascot for Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, modeled from photo reference because no 3D file existed.

The process

Sculpt. From your reference or our design, shaped by CNC and by hand. If no model exists, we build one; the Spurs mascot started as photo reference.

Coat. A hard shell over the foam for durability and a paintable surface. Our large sculptural builds are finished in fiberglass over steel structure.

Finish. Paint, color matching to brand standards, graphics, and clear coats. We hand-mix and match brand colors; it's a specialty of the shop.

Engineer and install. The unglamorous part most sculptors can't do: internal structure, ballast, rigging points, crating, trucking, and install, handled by the same team.
